Dr. T.K. Vishweshwar Reddy, President of the District Congress Committee, has voiced concerns that several government institutions are being moved away from Rajamahendravaram, the district headquarters. He urged MP Daggubati Purandeswari and city MLA Adireddy Vasu to wake up from their “deep slumber” and take immediate action to prevent this.
Speaking at a press conference in Rajamahendravaram on Tuesday, Reddy highlighted that the state government is making plans to relocate the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University to Tirupati. He claimed that as part of this, the government has already inspected seven acres of land in Tirupati for the university’s new location.
He also expressed outrage over the National Disease Control Center, which once operated from Rajamahendravaram, being shifted to Amaravati. Additionally, he mentioned that there are rumors suggesting that the government medical college, built by the previous administration, may soon be privatized by the current state government.Reddy strongly warned that such moves would not be tolerated.
He declared that if the government continues with these plans, the Congress party, along with the people, will launch a state-level protest. He called upon the leaders to intervene and prevent the relocation of key institutions from the city.Other Congress leaders, including Balepalli Muralidhar and Bezawada Ranga, were present at the press conference.
