Collector Mandates Approval for Sand Transport Vehicles

Rajahmundry, August 27 – District Collector P. Prashanti emphasized that vehicles transporting sand must receive approval from the Joint Collector before proceeding. In a review meeting held on Tuesday with divisional and mandal-level officers, including Joint Collector S. Chinna Ramudu, the Collector issued directives to ensure strict compliance with the sand distribution process. Key points discussed included the mandatory issuance of truck sheets containing comprehensive delivery address details for vehicles heading to sand reaches. The Collector also highlighted the necessity for enforcement teams to conduct thorough inspections to prevent any irregularities in the sand distribution process. Addressing pending grievances on the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), it was noted that out of 492 pending applications, 490 had been reviewed. The Collector stressed the importance of weekly audits for pending applications and directed the formation of WhatsApp groups at the mandal level to ensure swift resolution.The meeting also included discussions on the resolution of revenue-related issues, with the Collector underscoring the need for strict monitoring of progress at the state level.
