Minister Kandula Durgesh toured the flood-hit areas of Vijayawada, including Maithri Nagar, Jayaprakash Nagar, Sunnanbattelu, Krishnarajapuram, Arun Nagar, and Gangireddula Dibba, offering reassurance to the affected residents and overseeing relief operations.
He ensured that essentials like food, drinking water, and milk were provided to the victims.Minister Durgesh criticized the previous government for their lack of preparedness in dealing with natural disasters, attributing the current situation to their negligence.
He highlighted that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is taking swift action to support those affected by the floods, including the deployment of NDRF teams and government machinery to expedite relief efforts.
The Minister emphasized that the government will conduct enumeration and provide compensation to every flood-affected individual as soon as the water levels recede. He also noted that even tourist spots like Bhavani Island and Berm Park have been affected by the floods, something never seen before in Vijayawada.
