District Collector P. Prasanti emphasized the effective implementation of the Dokka Seethamma Midday Meal Scheme in government schools during a district-level workshop. The workshop, held at Sri Sathya Sai Gurukulam, Alcott Gardens, discussed various aspects of the scheme.
Collector P. Prasanti instructed educational officials and headmasters to ensure that the meals served to students are tasty and hygienic. Teachers and headmasters were urged to encourage students to consume the meals at school, with the aim of achieving 100% participation.In areas with lower participation, the Collector directed MEVOs, SMC chairpersons, and cooks to form teams and review the meal menu, providing necessary feedback. The state government supplies fortified rice and nutritious meals, including boiled eggs and ragi porridge, to enhance students’ health.District Horticulture Officer D. Sudheer discussed the importance of Nutri Gardens in schools, emphasizing the cultivation of organic vegetables for student health. A chef from Anand Regency Hotel provided cooking training to school cooks.Dr. Harishchandra Prasad from the DMHO office highlighted the importance of addressing anemia in students by supplying iron-folic acid tablets alongside nutritious meals.District Educational Officer K. Vasudeva Rao assured that all schools would adhere to the guidelines, ensuring tasty and nutritious meals for students.
