25,000 Tomato Bath Packets for Flood Victims—The inmates of Rajahmundry Central Jail have stepped up to support the flood victims of Vijayawada, showcasing their generosity. Under the supervision of Jail Officer S. Rahul, the inmates prepared 25,000 packets of Tomato Bath (Upma), which were dispatched to Vijayawada in the early hours of Thursday.Following the instructions of District Collector Smt. Prasanthi and motivated by Prisons Department DGP Kumar Viswajit, the inmates worked hard to prepare the Tomato Bath. Each packet contains 300 grams of Upma, carefully packed in special containers.
These food packets were sent to be distributed among the victims in Vijayawada under the oversight of the District Collector. Jail Officer S. Rahul personally supervised the entire preparation process.It’s worth noting that, during the COVID-19 pandemic, the inmates of Rajahmundry Central Jail had stitched and donated one lakh masks. Superintendent Sriram Rahul highlighted that the inmates, through mental transformation, have developed a sense of empathy and have contributed their part in humanitarian aid during such disasters, which is truly commendable.He further stated that helping victims in times of crisis is a true reflection of humanity. In light of this flood disaster, he urged donors to come forward voluntarily.He expressed his gratitude to the District Collector and the DGP of Prisons for providing this opportunity and extended his thanks and appreciation to the inmates for their hard work.
