Ministers Kandula Durgesh, Nadendla Manohar, and Kinjarapu Atchannaidu, along with Civil Supplies Managing Director Veera Pandian, toured the flood-affected low-lying areas of Vijayawada on Friday. The ministers distributed essential supplies to families severely impacted by the recent floods.
Tourism, Culture, and Cinematography Minister Kandula Durgesh emphasized that the state government is actively assisting all those affected by the unprecedented flooding in Vijayawada’s low-lying areas. “In an effort to help these families, we have distributed 25 kg of rice, 1 kg of cooking oil, 1 kg of toor dal, 1 kg of sugar, 2 kg of onions, and 2 kg of potatoes,” he said.
The minister also pointed out that the previous government’s negligence in strengthening the Budameru embankments contributed to the current crisis. He assured that once the floodwaters recede, government teams would visit each affected household, assess the damage, and provide further assistance.Durgesh reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting every flood victim and mentioned that aid and relief operations are already underway to address the situation.
