The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the launch of 1,400 new buses soon to enhance public transportation services across the state. Minister for Transport, Sports, and Youth Services,

Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, stated that these buses are being introduced to ensure better service quality for passengers. As part of the first phase, 600 buses have already begun operations, with the remaining 800 to be launched within the next three months.

Speaking at a ceremony at the Rajamahendravaram Bus Complex, the minister, along with MLAs Adireddy Vasu, Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, and Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy, inaugurated 22 new buses for the East and West Godavari districts. Minister Ramprasad Reddy emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening the APSRTC and announced plans to introduce electric bus services in the near future to further improve the transportation system.

The minister also highlighted the challenges posed by recent heavy rains, noting the government’s efforts to provide relief to affected communities. He praised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, recalling his successful handling of past natural disasters, such as the Hudhud cyclone in Visakhapatnam.Local officials and APSRTC representatives, including district collector P. Prashanthi and various depot managers, were present at the event.
