The prestigious Yonex Sunrise 78th South Zone Inter-State Badminton Championships concluded with a grand closing ceremony on Wednesday evening in Rajamahendravaram. The event witnessed outstanding performances from players across southern states, with prizes distributed to the winners by City MLA Adireddy Srinivas, Janasena Party City Incharge Atti Satyanarayana, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Khetan Gharhe, and Badminton District Association Secretary Bala Subrahmanyam.Prominent leaders such as TDP State Secretary Kasi Naveen Kumar, TDP leader Innamuri Deepu, and others also attended the event, adding to the occasion’s significance.
In his address to the media, Adireddy Srinivas praised the players for their dedication and emphasized the importance of sports in fostering discipline and unity among youth. He encouraged young athletes from Rajamahendravaram to take an active interest in sports for personal growth and the betterment of society.

In Men’s Singles, Tushar Suveer (KTK) won, while Ilishaa Pal (KTK) claimed the Women’s Singles title. The Men’s Doubles was won by Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar R. (TN), and Deepak Raj Aditi and Ponnamma B. V Vriddhi (KTK) triumphed in Women’s Doubles. The Senior Mixed Doubles title went to Sathwik Reddy K. and Vaishnavi Khadkekar (TS). In the U19 categories, Tushar Suveer (KTK) won the Boys Singles, Pravallika Mani Amarti (AP) took the Girls Singles, Aarya T. and Sumith A. R. (KTK) secured the Boys Doubles, Alisha Mahmood Khan and Keerthy Manchala (TS) won the Girls Doubles, and Niranjaan G.N. and Varna P. (TN) emerged victorious in Junior Mixed Doubles.
